My Travel Diary (Summer Studies 2007 in France)

Our Last Day...

NB: Especially dedicated to all my GSS friends (INT, France 2007). Hope this Travel Diary will bring you back to those wonderful memories we had! Treasure them and live your life NOW!!

Day 1 (17 Juin 2007)

- Arrive at Changi, 10.30 pm
- Eat at Jolli Bean
- Weigh luggages (1st photo shoots)
- Group check in (slow but fun, with several photo sessions) 1.00 am
- Immigration checkpoint
- Wait for 15 minutes at the holding room (translate a bit for the group)
- Sit at the second row from the back (switch place with jj) QATAR AIRWAYS 3.00 am
- First experience in international flight (2-3-2 back row)
- Eat meals: route SG-Doha --> sandwiches and cheese with omelette (yummy!!)
- Brush teeth in the plane's toilet, watch videos (pampered by good food)
- Transit at Doha (have pictures)
- Queue and some luggage misunderstandings (turn out to be not a problem at all)
- Board plane for route Doha-CDG -> again pampered by good food, omelette w/ cheese, scrambled egg, hot dog, tea, coffee, apple juice, yoghurt (so full)
- Ready CDG, rep from INT picked us up
- Mdm. Beverly et Nicolas picked us up at CDG
- One photo session with all (taken by a stranger), I tried to ask for that stranger's help and tried to speak with "broken" french and apparently she's not a local French, they didn't understand French...hahaha...
Lesson: when you bump into someone at the airport, you might want to ask about their nationality first and then decide whether you should speak in French or English.
- Transportation arranged by INT, reached INT after approx.1 hours (with Raymond, Kerin, Shilvia, Wei Shiong, Zhai Yao, JJ

- Meet a professeur, AIDA, SAMI (two locals who accompanied us during our first day)
- Go to our rooms, mine is in batiment 3, 3260 (U3, level 2, room number 60)
- Unpack my stuff and go around to other buildings (Sami showed us the way)
- See Minet, salle de jouex, kitchen, gathering, student activities centre, computer room, forum, lotsa places (mostly closed)
- Went for dinner at Quickos (eat burger and fries) --> pass the station evry courcouronnes
- Walk pass the cathedral at Evry
- Walk back to INT

Day 2 (18 Juin 2007)

- Madame Sandrine from international office helped us create an account for internet access at school
- Go to town (Paris) from le Bras de fer to L'arc du triomphe first, took lotsa photos.
- Go to L'Eiffel, took photos at the park (it was raining for a while and then the sun started shining again after 30 mins)
- Interviewed by a group of ppl at L'Eiffel --> I didn't really understand the questions so I can't answer in French, so embarassing...*sweat sweat* my friends pointed me to speak, but I'm not fluent enough to answer questions. I guess I really have to brush up my French. Bonne chance!!! - Go to Montmarte area, have dinner. I had pizza Neapolitan (shared with Rica)
- At arnd 9 pm (which is more like the situation of 6/7 pm, it was still very bright outside), start walking back to station
- See the notice board that flips around (funny...)
- Back at INT.

Day 3 (19 Juin 2007)

- Breakfast at the restaurant
- Briefing at Amphitheatre (see lotsa ppl) --> we found that our plan clashed with the new timetable, want to skip the trip to Loire du Valley at 30th June to go to Nice
- Lunch and then French test at Batiment F (written and oral)
- I didn't do well for the oral, can't even form one good sentence at onceT_T
- Go back to room and bring laptop to Minet (internet service) --> setup internet connection.
- Back to room to test internet and then go together to Carrefour to buy some stuff (i bought 1 loaf of bread and 2 cartons of milk)
- Describe the condition of Carrefour in France (system, goods and stuff)
- Back to room, took a shower
- Gather with everybody (we talked craps until 11.45 pm *swt*)
- New ganks: cheapskate, chicken, biscuit, tio tok, sleeping, evil...

Day 4 (20 Juin 2007)

- 1st lecture at building F about the management of intercultural environment, 1st speaker was OK, the 2nd one (a manager) was boring. I almost fell asleep.
- Lunch and go to Paris again after lunch.
- Go together with new friends from Hongkong (3) and Korea (1)
- Go to Notre Dame at Cite, take photos of the parliament building and the cathedral notre dame (we went inside too, bought coins for 2 euros)
- Go to Cathedral Montmartre, can see the cathedral (inside) and the view of Paris from the hill (climbing needs effort)
- Go to Moulin Rouge (take photos outside, the show is too expensive for us)
- Wait for 3 hours in gare du nord (quite pannick), ask arnd to the locals, police, apparently the rail track was spoiled (broken). Go back by night bus after asking around, and arrived at 3 am in the morning (funny stuff happened with Shilvia and a French guy)

Day 5 (21 Juin 2007)

- Woke up quite late (around 8.30 am)
- Went to breakfast and second lecture at the amphitheatre (more about France: geography, economic, politics, travel etc)
- In the lecture, felt drowsy
- Every lunch, there're always main dishes with cheese and any kinds of meat (typical French cuisine)
- C'est la fete de la musique (music in every corner of the city, near Chatelet les halles, Gare de Nord)
- Paris---> the city with small paths and buildings at the sides. Many branches of streets (5-6 branches)
- Just walked around and enjoy the city life (there's one time in a very lively street, we saw two gay couple kissing, it's indeed a rare sight)
- Took photos in front of he big hotel (Hotel de Ville) and the bridge.

Day 6 (22 Juin 2007)

- Lecture class (I slept almost throughout the lecture:P)
- Lunch
- French class (slower than the previous day)
- Went to Gare de Lyon to validate eurail pass and reserve TGV for going to Nice next week (depart on Friday). Only me, Rica and Jouh Ching will be going. The rest went to Burgundy on this Sunday (24 Juin).
- The reservation fee is only 3 EURO...feeling bullied by the travel agency...T_T, we paid too much!!!!!!
-We were planning to go to Musee du Louvre but because the reservations took a long time, we decided to cancel it and went to Chinatown instead.
- Went to station Place d'Italie and the Tang Freres market. It's a china town area, some of us bought prata, noodles and etc (there are quite a lot of Singapore's food there). Apparently after only one week, they have missed Singapore's food very much...hahaha
- After walking around for 30 minutes and saw so many chinese/vietnamese restaurants, we decided to eat dinner in one of the chinese restaurants. We ate good food over there. THE BEST so far. Most of us ate beef hor fun, I ate Lou Han Cai with rice, which unbelievably cost me 8 EURO, the rice was 1.5 EURO (dammit, I didn't know that T_T), but the food was nice^_^
- Then we went back to Gare de Lyon and started waiting for the train back to Le Bras de Fer (by that time i felt pain all over my left foot, blisters and stuff, I should've worn a more comfortable shoes), reached INT at around 12.15 am

Day 7 (23 Juin 2007)

- Saturday!!!
- No class and there's an outing to Paris arranged by the school (left for Paris at 9.45am)
- Reach le bateaux parisien (lined up to board the boat), sight seeing (the views on both sides of the seine river).
- Lunch break (I ate biscuits and yaourt)
- Met up with the group and lined up to go up the Eiffel tower (we went to the third level)
- Took lotsa photos from Eiffel tower (we can see the city of Paris^_^)
- Went down and met the rest of the groups and then left for Montmartre.
- We didn't go with the group, just walk around the place (saw many sex shops, pattiseries, etc)
- Met up to go to restaurant "Les Ecuries de Josephines".
- Good music, splendid dinner (shrimp as the appetizer, duck and potato as the main course, ice cream champagne, cake ice cream and glasses of white and red wine)
- I got a little dizzy because of the wine.
- Chat in the bus on our way back to INT
- There was a man who proposed to his gf in the restaurant.
- NICE DINNER!!! (we've paid for it in advance^_^)

SOME FUN FACTS
- the 10 pm in France is still as bright as the 6 pm in Singapore
- the french roads have a lot of branches and they're all connected (make it easier for tourists to get lost easily even with a map at hand)
- most of the Parisiens can't speak English very well and they're more individual than I thought they are.
- if you're Asians and go to Paris in a group, you'll feel like you're being stared at by the locals (like we're some weird people, hahaha)
- their underground public transportations (train, metro, RER) are so complicated and sometimes unpredictable (don't compare it with Singapore's MRT)
- different keyboard for the computer


Day 8 (24 Juin 2007)

- Sunday --> spend the whole day sleeping, editing photos and uploading files to friendster (the rest of the group went to Burgundy)

Day 9 (25 Juin 2007)

- Monday --> bought coupon hebdomadaire again
- Went to Jardin du Luxembourg
- It was raining (just there for two hours, took pictures and stuff)
- Dinner together at batiment 4 and we had a drinking (water) game until 1.30 am (it was lotsa fun and laughter)

Day 10 (26 Juin 2007)

- Tuesday --> class (interesting speaker)
- Went to Chinatown, bought noodles and eggs

Day 11 (27 Juin 2007)

- Lack of sleep due to subject registration
- First time late for class
- No french lesson
- Went to Avenue Champs Elysees and Printemps
- Summer sales --> but the goods are still very much expensive compare to Singapore. I didn't buy anything.

Day 12 (28 Juin 2007)

- Went to station Val d'Europe with Rica to check out the "la Vallee" factory outlet of branded goods (but it was quite disappointing)
- I bought a long sleeve shirt at Jennyfer (@centre commercial)
- The rest of the group went to La Defense.
- Back to INT, eat dinner together at building 4 (almost everybody's there)

Day 13 (29 Juin 2007)

- Class as usual.
- French class --> play card games. It was very fun.
- Stay at my room and prepare for the NICE trip
- Rica went to Versailles alone
- Depart from Paris d'Austerlitz at 9.32 pm
- Rica forgot to bring her eurail pass (was quite panick for sometime)
- She has to pay for the full fare (134 EURO, one way) and ask for the reimbursement in Paris
- We slept at 6-bed cabin (couchettes), it was quite crammed at the beginning, but after we settled down, it was actually quite nice^_^, we slept well)

Day 14 (30 Juin 2007)

- Reach Nice at around 8.30 in the morning (it was a bright sunny day and with a bit of cool breeze. I like the weather
- Went to the tourist information office and asked for the map of NICE
- Searched for the Normandie Hotel at Rue Paganini where we stayed for one night (on Saturday night)
- Found it after 20 minute-walk
- Put our stuff at the lobby, couldn't check in yet.
- Went to the Place Massena and flower market (Cours Saleya)
- Had our lunch just beside the flower market (I ate mussels 1.5 buckets --> Moule Poulette et les frites). I was very full.^_^
- Walked back to the Hotel and checked in, put our stuff in the room and took a shower (each of us)
- The room was NICE, one bathroom (quite clean), four beds, hangers, cupboard, mirror, and etc (well-equipped)
- Went out again to the beach and play in the water (not swimming)
- A lot of people were laying down, sun-tanning themselves (some of the girls are topless too). A very interesting sights indeed.
- Some people played beach volleyball. Interesting too.
- We sat at the beach which was filled with stones (instead of sands) and looked at the sea ( it was very clear and beautiful, so blue...I definitely love the BEACH!!!!)
- Walk along the Promenade des Anglais (Quai des Anglais), took photos at the fountains at Place Massena.
- Returned to the hotel at around 8 pm (return early because of the unsafe road at night, some scary people around)
- I watched TV for a while and fell asleep before I took any shower (was very tired)
- Woke up at around 11 pm and took a shower before I slept.

Day 15 (1 Juillet 2007)

- Woke up in the morning and prepared for the 4-hour trip to Monaco (paid 45 euro)
- A guide named Gregory came at 9 am to pick us up with a small van
- He drove us from the hotel to Monaco
- First stop at the top of mountain (still at Nice) for us to take photo of the view of Nice from the top)
- Went to the perfume factory (Fragonard) and had a 20-minute tour to see the factory
- The local guide gave us some sample of parfum for us to smell.
- In the end, I bought 2 medium parfums and one royal jelly cream for anti wrinkles and aging (for mom)
- Went to the Eze ville and took a lot of photos of the ancient village at the mountain, it was very unique indeed)
- Went to the Cathedral at Monaco (very near to the Monaco palace)
- Monaco's flag is the same with Indonesia's.
- It was the second smallest country in the world after Vatican.
- The residents there must have at least 500,000 EUROS in their bank account every month (what???) and there are 58 banks in the small country.
- The country was very safe and in every 20 houses, there is only one policeman
- There's a restaurant where the royal family often had their meals. And the cost of one menu is 500 EURO (crazy...)
- The guide also showed us the house of Sean Connery at the top of mountain) and he only stayed there for two weeks in a year for the film festival at Cannes.
- We went to the shops near castle/palace to buy souvenirs. I bought 3 shirts for Dad,, Li, Wi and one shirt for myself or Yen2.
- We went back to Nice and he dropped me and Rica at the flower market while Jouh Ching and Kerin were dropped at the Russian Cathedral.
- @ the flower market, we bought some flower jams, cookies and ate Socca (a specialty pancake from Nice)
- I bought a bag and had a strawberry milk shake at McDonald's
- Then we walked along the beach again. I rented a bicycle for one hour and cycled along the road Promenade des Anglais. It was a very long road and I didn't finish it. It was so much fun and beautiful. Rica cancelled the rental of roller blade.
- Then we ended up the walk on the beach at the sea shore, while looking for stones again and took some last photos (he water was very cold and good!!!)
- We met two American ladies who were also on a trip to Nice (their last day)
- Met with jouh ching and kerin at the flower market at around 5.30 pm and we had dinner together at the Irish pub (Manolans). I ate roast beef and fries and hot chocolate. I was very full (delicious dinner^_^)
- Overall, I spent a lot in his NICE trip (around 146 EURO) but it was so much FUN. No regret!!! Hahaha... (I just didn't manage to buy the chocolate from Nice)
- We went back to the hotel and took our stuff then went to the train station (Niceville).
- We reached the station one hour before the departure time (apparently we took the longer way from the station to our hotel when we first reached Nice, it was, in fact, very near to the station, just 5 minute-walk)
- We waited for the train while playing Capsa :P (sit beside the rail, hahaha)
- We continued on playing at the TGV (we have four seats facing each other) until midnight
- The AC were off at night, we had difficulty sleeping in the trainT_T (but I managed to sleep though, until around 6 am)
- We reached Gare de Lyon at 6.52 am and then went to RER D to wait for the train. We reached INT at around 8 am and we saw the rest of the management people were all ready to go to GE Versailles. I quickly ran back to the building and changed my clothes. It was indeed very tiring.

Day 16 (2 Juillet 2007)

- In the bus, management class visit to GE France (Versailles)
- To Carrefour

Day 17 (3 Juillet 2007)

- Class (interesting) --> about mobile telephone
- French class
- Stay at INT, dinner together in batiment 5

Day 18 (4 Juillet 2007)

- Class (the rest went to Strasbourg)--> group work with VT students
- Treasure hunt at campus (quite fun, in a group with Caitlin, Melissa, Grace)--> voiture, around the campus, received clues, found letters)
- Played card games in Harold's room

Day 19 (5 Juillet 2007)

- In the bus at 7.30 pm to Beauvais airport, it was very far away (5 hrs from INT)
- Saw the airport and figure out how to go there on the 15th of July (flight to Rome, Ryan Air)
- Visit to a small village at Gerberoy (medieval village) --> very quiet place, but i prefer Eze village at Nice.
- In the bus back to INT
- Had dinner at batiment 3 (my own building)

Day 20 (6 Juillet 2007)

- Class and then had dinner at batiment 5
- Ate pasta, omelette and prata with the rest (JJ, Harold, Raymond, Gabriel, Weishiong, ZhaiYao, Helen, Gabriel)
- Played card games until 12.30 am

Day 21 (7 Juillet 2007)

- After breakfast, left for Cancale.
- Stopped by and ate lunch (I ate crepes chocolat)
- Cancale --> ate oyster (raw), it was nice.
- Arrived at the oyster farming, saw souvenirs and watched documentary movie on oyster farming, and then went to the place where the oyster were cleaned (dipped into sea water again)
- Tasted the oyster (yummy)!!
- Left for Saint Malo (fortress)
- Arrive at Saint Malo and saw a big casino there.
- Walked pass several shops, ate crepes nutella and la glace (vanille fraise)
- Found a nice place (like heaven), where I can see a nice view of Saint Malo from the top
- I went with Rica, Wei Shiong, Harold, Gabriel
- Took photos at the cliff and the beach (with sand!), i took off my shoes and walked along the beach
- Returned to the bus (through the upper way, at the top of the fortress) and left for the youth hostel (Pleine Fougeres)
- Checked in for one night at the hostel: with Rica, Helen, Shil, Minli, Kerin, Jouh Ching
- Walked around the silent city while waiting for dinner
- The dinner: bread, salad, egg, pasta, pizza, creme fromage, fromage (white and yellow)
- Played police, murderer, doctor, civilians game
- Participants: me, JJ, Rica, Helen, Gabriel, Wei Shiong, Harold, Zhai Yao, Olivia, Jerome, Kevin (HK), Donald (HK), Raymond
- It was very fun and we played until midnite.

Day 22 (8 Juillet 2007)

- Woke up at 7 and petit dejeuner at 8.45 (the person was late)
- We ate baguette and cornflakes with honey and butter
- Prepared our bag and got ready to check out and left for Mont Saint Michel
- A fortress on the mountain, as we climbed there were souvenir shops and restaurants everywhere. I didn't go into l'abbaye.
- I had an espresso for 2 euro (vry ex), it's only a small cup but it's still OK
- Went into a souvenir shop, I didn't buy anything (Shilvia bought the necklace that I chose
- Went to the restaurant "Le Relais du Roy", and ate a very good lunch, drank white wine, nice cake as the desert (with ice cream too), but I didn't eat the cheese
- Group photo after lunch (FUN)
- Went back to the bus and returned to INT, we reached at around 8 pm (played asshole taiti along the way)
- Had dinner in batiment trois (noodlesT_T

Day 23 (9 Juillet 2007)

- Skipped morning class to do my paper (until 3.5 page)
- Went to restaurant for lunch and cashed out money from ATM (returned 150 Euro to Shil)
- Went to French class and discussed about the performance on Friday
- Went out to Paris, shopping at Chatelet-Les Halles (underground mall) with Helen and Shil
- Went into Pimkie and MOA, I bought a necklace for 5.90 EURO.
- Ate hamburger for dinner, from McDonald at Chatelet-Les Halles
- Met with the rest (Shawn, Rica, Minli, Jouh Ching, Kerin, Gabriel) Went to Palais du Royal (took photos), McDonald (for toilet)
- Went to the Carnival in front of Jardin de Tuileries (took photos)
- Went back to INT at around 10 pm

Day 24 (10 Juillet 2007)

- Went to the most boring class during this summer study (should've skipped it)
- Went back to room (the class ended at 11 am), finishing my paper (left with final touch up before sending out)
- Went to French class and had games with class from level 3
- With Wei Shiong, Helen and Shilvia at 5.30 pm, went to Pantheon and Montparnasse, nothing much there
- We just talked about food along our way back to INT (around 10 pm), missed Palembang's foodT_T

Day 25 (11 Juillet 2007)

- Woke up at 6 am and prepared for the trip to a champagne vineyard at REIMS.
- The breakfast was late so we departed at around 8 am instead of 7.30 am
- Getting used to sleeping in the bus (saw many people studying for the French test)
- Arrived at the champagne vineyard, the champagne cellar tour in a small train (moved by laser)
- Tested the champagne (one glass) --> it was NICE!!! ^_^
- Lotsa students bought the champagne bottles, back to bus and went for lunch
- Lunch at ???, not really that nice, just OK
- Went to Notre Dame REIMS, took pictures and it was drizzling
- Cold and back to bus faster
- Back to room and studied for the French test, but I didn't really study and went to sleep earlier

Day 26 (12 Juillet 2007)

- Woke up early and got ready for the last management class
- Quite an interesting last lecture from an American lecturer (talking about the online mobility usage in different cultures)
- Finished earlier and ate lunch
- Prepared for the French test. It was only less than one hour, a lot of grammar problems, forgot some history or passages or meanings, etc)
- Finished test and practiced a bit for the performance on the last day
- Went to Luxembourg with Shilvia and bought 4 Paris' shirts
- Went to Chatelet to meet up with Helen and JJ again
- Went to the festival with the rest (near Pantheon)

Day 27 (13 Juillet 2007)

- Performance (interesting--> Group 3)
- My group had technical prob (can't play the song in the tape recorder/speaker)
- We performed without music after presenting photos (I presented two photos)
- Helen, me, Shilvia, Gabriel went to Versailles, took photos, very hot weather, saw speakers for celebration, drank milkshake at McD's
- We ate at the restaurant in Chatelet Les Halles. We had galettes for dinner, nice!! (with Shawn, JJ, Kerin, Gabriel, Helen, Shil, Jouh Ching)
- Went back to INT (promised to meet up at 7 am)

Day 28 (14 Juillet 2007) --> Bastille Day

- France's national day
- Military parade
- Eat at Quickos
- With Rica finding a way to Louvre
- Met two friendly French students from Algeria (a bit annoying though)
- Separated at Louvre (thank goodness)
- Musee du louvre with Rica (a bit bored, off with Rica at 4 pm, to go to Eiffel tower)
- Metros closed/blocked
- Not sleeping, bus 120 from le bras de fer
- Metro from chatelet, bus from porte maillot

Day 29 (15 Juillet 2007) --> Rome Day 1

- Arrived at Beauvais Airport (don't need to pay for luggages^_^)
- Group checked in (long queue)
- Boarding plane (bit late, very long queue)
- In RyanAir (no food, quite a rough landing, arnd 2 hours)
- At CIA airport, waited for luggages for a very loooong time
- Changed waiting line and then out
- Bought the bus ticket (8 EURO) to main station (Termini)
- Arrived at Termini and out to in the hostel (Alessandro Downtown)
- The hostel was very near to Termini (good)
- It was quite a nice hostel, 6 girls together, 4 guys together, use 2 rooms.
- Shared bathroom and breakfast included
- Nice receptionist (but not really that helpful)
- Walk to Fontane di Trevi, took pictures there, ate gelato (ice cream)
- Walk to Piazza Navona and along the way took pictures of Pantheon and etc
- Had dinner in Piazza Navona, very ex...(I'm in a bad mood and tired)
- Missed the metro and walked back to hostel (reached at around 01.00)
- Changed clothes and directly slept (super tired)

Day 30 (16 Juillet 2007) --> Rome Day 2

- Vatican City
- Colosseum
- Palatine
- Dinner (ate pizza margherita)

Day 31 (17 Juillet 2007) --> Rome in the morning, Venice Day 1

- Woke up early in the morning and went to Termini station at 6 am (I couldn't wake up earlier as promisedT_T)
- From Termini to Venezia Mestre took arnd 5 hrs.
- Checked in to Venice Hotel Villa Dori (quite far and have to take bus number 9)
- Nice receptionist and clear direction given by the hotel
- Nice design of the hotel (strange shower, dim light)
- Went out to Venice (Ponte di Rialto and Piazza ...), lotsa shops and restaurants
- Ate dinner near Piazza Roma (bus station) (I had a lasagna)
- Back to Hotel at night (a bit lost)

Day 32 (18 Juillet 2007) --> Venice Day 2

- Woke up and got ready to check out
- Put our luggages in the storage room before going to Venice again by the shuttle provided by hotel. The luggages were sent to us near the time of our train to Innsbruck
- Went to Piazza de... where there were a lot of pigeons and restaurants
- Went to glass shop and I bought a necklace
- Took train at around 2 pm from Venezia Santa Lucia
- Arrived at Innsbruck in the evening arnd 7 pm and took the bus the Pension Technikerhaus (nice place, breakfast provided, friendly staff)
- Went to search for dinner but couldn't find any (McD was closed)
- Can connect to the internet through wireless ^_^
- Heard news about Henni

Day 33 (19 Juillet 2007) --> Innsbruck Day 1

- Tourist office
- Cycling (15 km)--> fun exercise, nice panoramic view along the way
- Hall Tirol
- Kristalwelten Swarovski (just nice, arrived on time)
- Took train back to Innsbruck
- I and Shilvia returned the bike to the shop
- Went to McD for dinner
- Got a bit lost on our own way back (me and Shil)

Day 34 (20 Juillet 2007)

- The rest couldn't see the sunrise because they missed the bus (I'm still sleeping)
- The bike gang are together (JJ, Raymond, Gabriel, Wei Shiong, Shil, Me) went to Goldenes Dachl, city center, ate lunch (i didn't eat proper lunch, had chocolate instead)
- Walk around until 4 pm
- 4 pm back to hostel and ready to take the bus to Innsbruck hbf
- Took direct train to Salzburg hbf (earlier than the plan)
- Reached the hostel (YOHO) at around 8 pm --> a very lively hostel
- Had dinner (I had a salzburger in the hostel)
- Planned for the trip on the next day


Day 35 (21 Juillet 2007) --> Salzburg Day 1

- Went to Hohensalzburg Fortress with JJ, Shil, Kerin, Helen, Shil
- JJ tried to shoot using a crossbow (the guy in charge there was cute...yay:P)
- Went to Hellbrunn --> trick fountain (wet and fun)
- Went to Mozart's house (3rd level of the building was his home)
- Went to wax museum (looked real but quite dull)
- Went to the boat trip (use Salzburg card --> worth it but quite boring, i almost fell asleep in the boat)
- Met Wei Shiong, Gabriel, Raymond in the boat trip
- Jouh Ching's troubled, missed her train
- We sat down to find solution and then went to internet cafe to check another train schedule for her. Eventually she managed to catch her flight back to Singapore. But we had to carry her luggage with us on the 24th
- Went back hostels (Yoho) and found that there's a guy staying in our room (Helen asked Gabriel to switch bed=P)


Day 36 (22 Juillet 2007) --> Salzburg Day 2

Mountain (cable car)
Sound of Music (Wolfgang Lake, mountain)
A bit tense situation (Helen's)
Took many photos
Back to Yoho to collect baggages
Caught the train to Vienna
Reached Vienna at arnd 7 pm and took the public train
Checked into Hotel Geblergasse (quite an ignorant receptionist)
Ate at McDonald's just across the street

Day 37 (23 Juillet 2007) --> Vienna

Walked to the famous Cafe
I ate apple strudel (sat with Wei Shiong, Rica and JJ)
Along the way we took pictures at some landmarks
Back to Hotel at around 3 pm
Took baggages and off to the main train station
Boarded the bus to Vienna Schawt Airport (45 minutes)
Checked in SkyEurope (1 hour 55 minute-flight)
Arrived at Orly, Paris
Took the bus to Pont de Rungis and took RER to Juvisy (we didn't pay at all, couldn't pay for the ticket by coins, so the person just told us to board the train and see if there's anyone checking, apparently they didn't check^_^)
Arrived at Juvisy and took RER D to Le Bras de Fer
Arrived at INT and approached the security for the rest of our bags
The white badgez wasn't working properly. We had difficulties entering the dorm.
The person in charge helped us settle the stuff (used my French, yay)
All nine of us stayed in batiment 5 (nice one)
Settled the luggages (Jouh Ching's suitcase--> problem)

Day 38 (24 Juillet 2007) --> Evry-CDG

I woke up early in the morning
Finished packing
I ate breakfast at the cafeteria. I had pain du chocolat et cappuccino. C'est parfait.
Wait for the International office to open
Met one of the staff (the funky and young one, what's her name?) and she helped me to call the van for nine people to aeroport CDG
Took last photos at INT (in front of building 4)
Bye bye INT, left for CDG
Arrived at around 1 pm and checked in (long queue)
Waited for quite some time (the plane was delayed for almost an hour)
In the plane, watch movie, eat and sleep, arrived at Doha
Changed plane but there's no movie, only songs (in one plane with passengers going to Jakarta)
Arrived at Changi airport on 25th of July at around 3 pm.
Back to NTU with Helen and Shilvia
I carried the bags myself with a help from one of the JCRC guy
